The DPA Microphones 4099 CORE Instrument Mic for rock touring includes the Extreme SPL 4099 variation. This has a dynamic range of 109dB and can withstand up to 152dB before clipping. The CORE, by DPA, is a powerful technology that minimises distortion. In the unlikely event of spill, there are no unnatural, harsh frequencies to deal with. The microphone's capsule produces a very natural sound, both on and off axis

The CORE 4099 contains a highly directional capsule designed for use in ensembles, pit, stage and orchestral settings. The pick up pattern of the capsule ensures maximum isolation of the musician’s instrument, with incredibly low self-noise and high gain before feedback.
