DPA 4063 CORE Omnidirectional Microphone
The DPA 4063 CORE Omnidirectional Microphone, Loud SPL and Low voltage is designed for use with transmitters giving only 3V bias voltage. Some transmitters provide only 3V instead of the more common 5V. In this case, the 4063 is the right choice for such transmitters.
4063 MINIATURE OMNIDIRECTIONAL MICROPHONE, LOUD SPL & LOW VOLTAGE
The mic is acoustically identical to the 4060 Miniature Omnidirectional Microphone, but its internal preamplifier in the input stage is designed for working with lower supply voltage. With the correct power source, the microphone will be able to handle sound pressure levels up to 138 dB before clipping occurs.
Diversity in Applications
The DPA 4063 Miniature allows for a diverse range of applications. Designed for use with wireless systems in theatres, it is also now one of the most loved microphones for film and television applications. Ideal for capturing speech in all of its nuances, it is also suitable for close-miking a wide range of instruments. For applications where the sound source is more remote or dampened and you need to have a good balance of signal to noise ratio, the 4063 is the perfect solution.
Interchangeable Grids
By selecting the correct grid for your application, it is possible to modify the acoustic response of the 4060 Series.
Included with each microphone are two grids. The pre-fitted Soft Boost Grid gives a 3dB soft boost at 8-20kHz. It is recommended to be used when the microphone is mounted on the performer’s head, and in most other applications where you need a natural-sounding microphone.
When fitted, the High Boost Grid introduces a 10dB soft boost at around 12kHz for applications where chest-placement is preferred, and including under-clothing applications. Both of these grids are made of anodised stainless steel, giving a tough and scratch resistant surface. You can detach the grids from the microphone and clean them of sweat, makeup, etc.
