DPA 6061 CORE Subminiature Microphone, Loud SPL, MicroLock
The DPA 6061 CORE Subminiature Microphone, Loud SPL, MicroLock, is just 3mm (0.12") in size, but packs the audio power of the larger, award-winning DPA mics. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in clarity, consistency and durability. By shrinking CORE, by DPA technology, DPA has ensured you don't have to compromise on sound to focus on aesthetics.
Shrinking CORE into a 3mm Capsule
CORE, by DPA, is a powerful new technology at the heart of these subminiature microphones. Essentially, CORE minimises distortion and expands dynamic range significantly.
Minimised distortion
From a whisper to a scream, you will experience increased clarity and openness.
Taking the amazing CORE technology and shrinking it down to fit into a (0.12") subminiature mic, means that, despite their small size, the performance of the 6060 CORE Subminiature Series is fully comparable to the globally loved and recognised 5mm (0.20") miniature capsules.
They have a lower noise floor than any other 3mm (0.12") capsule on the market. In addition to this, they are better able to capture high sound pressure levels without distortion.
In terms of technical specifications, the 6061 has a noise floor of only 26dB(A), which is on par with the 5mm (0.20") DPA miniature capsules.
Advanced new mic design
The DPA 6061 CORE Subminiature's tiny capsule has a removable cap for cleaning and easy reattachment. The supplied cap corresponds in its nature to the low-boost grid of the 5mm (0.20") versions.
Both the mic itself, and the cap, are made of stainless steel and treated with a Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coating that makes it extremely durable. Therefore, it can tolerate high temperatures, is resilient against impacts and resistant to abrasion. Furthermore, this pleasant matte coating makes the entire headset look smaller and less obtrusive.
New MicroLock System
The DPA 6061 CORE Subminiature Microphone, Loud SPL, now comes with the new MicroLock.
MicroLock features a newly designed locking mechanism, which affords users a quick, easy and secure connection and an extra layer of protection against accidental disconnection during use.
Added to its flexibility and enhanced reliability is a significantly longer lifespan due to the upgraded materials and redesigned construction. The connector has a more robust, solid metal body, while the improved electrical design offers enhanced stability and reliability of the signal.
Quality Cables
Until now, cables were often the weak point on these types of mics. However, these subminiatures have the same size cable [Ø 1.6mm (0.06")] and the same rugged cable relief as the 5mm (0.20") mics. Thanks to the Kevlar inner core, the cable is extremely durable, does not become entangled and can withstand rough pulls. The mic housing also has a strain relief which strengthens the assembly.
The cable and capsule design ensure immunity to noisy wireless devices. These mics are typically connected to a wireless belt pack and offer a comprehensive mix of adapters to suit the many wireless transmitters available. When used with an adapter, the connector is MicroDot, as standard, but is also available as a hardwired termination to suit the most popular systems from manufacturers such as, Shure and Sennheiser.
All DPA connectors are equipped with a rugged strain relief.
The CORE Subminiatures are the only 3mm (0.12") mics that give you the DPA sonic quality that you know and love.

IP58 certified
The CORE Subminiatures are IP58 certified. This durability is achieved through several defence mechanisms:
- Water-repellent nano-coating of the cover and housing
- Hermetic sealing of the sensitive amplifier at the core of the mic
- Dual gold plating of the diaphragm
