The Viviana Pebble is the first body wave antenna for radio mics. It is an innovative antenna designed for body-worn wireless transmitters used in film, television, theatre and corporate production.

How Does It Work?

In traditional wireless systems, range is often limited because the human body absorbs and blocks RF energy. When a standard whip antenna is placed close to the body, much of the transmitted RF energy is directed into the body where it is absorbed and dissipated.

Viviana Pebble solves this by using patented BodyWave Technology.

The rear surface of Viviana Pebble acts as a ground plane, directing RF energy away from the body and the patented technology of the antenna allows signals to ‘creep’ around it, rather than into it.

This allows the signal to propagate far more efficiently into the surrounding space.

The result is:

• Improved usable range
• More consistent signal strength
• Greater reliability when worn close to the body

Because RF energy is directed away from the body, the transmitter operates more efficiently compared with traditional whip antennas worn against the body.

Where Viviana Pebble Performs Best

Viviana Pebble provides the greatest improvement in situations where the body would normally block the transmitter antenna.

Typical examples include:

• Open outdoor environments
• Large studios or stages
• When transmitters are worn under clothing or costumes
• When talent frequently turns away from the receive antennas

In these scenarios Viviana Pebble can significantly improve usable range and signal stability.

Where the Difference May Be Smaller

Viviana Pebble is designed to solve the specific problem of body absorption. If that problem is not present, the improvement may naturally be less noticeable.

Examples include:

• When the transmitter antenna is not close to the body
• Indoor environments with strong RF reflections

In these situations Viviana Pebble will still perform well, but the improvement compared with a whip antenna may be smaller.
